May I accompany my child?

Parents are welcome to accompany their children into the treatment area during the initial examination and all appointments. This prevents separation anxiety and allows us to discuss dental findings and treatment directly with you.
We do ask that if you accompany your child you assume the role of a silent observer. If more than one person is speaking to the child, they will become confused. Cooperation and trust needs to be established between your child and the doctor/hygienist.

There may be times when a child’s experience is enhanced without their parent for example, older children. We encourage older children going to the treatment room by themselves to build self-reliance and trust. They typically respond favorably without a parent present, especially for more involved appointments.

Together the parent and dentist will agree upon the best approach for their child’s specific needs.
